Show SUBMARINE SINKS J ANOTHER CRUISER 1 London, Oct. 31 The following statement was issued tonight by the J official press bureau: "The secretary' of the admiralty states that the old cruiser Hermes, Captain C. R. Lambee. was sunk today to-day by a torpedo fired by a German submarine in the straits of Dover as she was returning from Dunkirk. "Nearly all tho officers and crew-were crew-were saved, but the exact loss cannot can-not be ascertained until the men are 1 mustered J "The loss of the vessel is of small military significance." The Hermes is the seventh British cruiser to be sunk by German sub marines. All were lost In the North sea and adjacent waters. The light cruiser Amphlon and the torpedo gtin-I gtin-I boat Speedy, sunk by German mines, bring the total up to eight.
