KENNETH ADAMS Benson claimed by Adams On Saturday, March 16, 1974, Miss Shari Lynn Benson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Benson, Jr., became the bride of Mr. Ken Adams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Adams, all of Parowan. The double ring ceremony was performed by Bishop Ernest Ahlborn in the home of the bride's parents. A reception honoring the young couple was held that same evening in the Parowan Third Ward Cultural Hall. TJie bride was beautiful in her gown of chiffon over satin featuring an empire waist. The sleeves were full and sheer with wide botton cuffs. The gown was was Mrs. Melva Barton, aunt of the bride. Gift carriers were Michael Benson, Robert James and Jimmy Mason. Attending the guest register were Penny Ward and Ginger Hulet. Taking care of the gift table were Kathy Adams, Laura Wilcox, Myrna Robb, and Cindy Pendleton. Serving were Peggy Adams, Cecelia Adams, Diane Adams, and Nicole Adams. In the kitchen were Sandra Stevens, Teresa Mason, Mary Dotson, Betty Jo Robb, Sandi Robb, and Karen Ferguson. The bride's going away costume was a red and navy-blue knit jersey pantsuit with white trimmed around the collar, bodice, sleeves, and bottom with lace trim with satin ribbon interfacing. in-terfacing. Her three-tiered veil was accented with the same trim. She carried a bouquet of cascading blue-tipped roses and stephanotis, surrounding a white orchid. Attending the bride were Jill Stevens, Patricia Stevens, Darla Adams, Sydnee Stevens, and Paula Benson. They were lovely in their full length royal blue crepe jumpers, over sky blue, full sleeved knit sweaters. They carried garden bouquets of spring flowers. Standing for the groom were his brothers Mike and Eugene Adams. Ushers were Jeff Taylor, Julian Rollins, Larry Pendelton, and Chuck Harris. Mothers of the young couple wore floor length dresses of a blue floral print and. wore white orchid corsages. Furnishing background music at the organ cuffs and collar. The newlyweds honeymooned for a week in Las Vegas. Two showers were given honoring the bride, one by Jackie Jones and Jill Barton, another by Penny Ward, Ginger Hulet, Alta and Darla Adams. Parents of the bridegroom, Mr. and Mrs. Homer Adams, hosted a dinner Friday, March 15, at the La Tajada Room in Sullivan's Cafe in Cedar City, attended by the wedding party and the families of Ken and Shari. Shari, the bride, is a 1973 graduate of Parowan High School where she was active in marching mar-ching and cheerleading. She is currently employed at the Town and Country Restaurant in Cedar City and Les' Service in Paragonah. Ken, the bridegroom, is a 1972 graduate of Parowan High where he was active in athletics. He has attended at-tended Utah State University and is currently employed by Elias-Morris Elias-Morris & Sons in Salt Lake City. |
