Mike Robinson had 15 points, Brad Fife 12, Brent Rowley 10 and Mike Benson 9, in a real team effort. These boys did a fine job and all feel they were one of the best teams in the tournament. Panguitch won easily over Kanab by 24 and Wayne by 27 in the Championship game. Members of the Parowan team were Brad Fife, Mike Robinson, Brent Rowley, Mike Benson, Daryl Jones, Mike Evans, Kim Bess, all sophomores, and Blair Bentley, Richard Burton, and Blair Bentley, freshmen. These boys should do very well in the future for Parowan basketball. Brad Fife was named to the 10 man all-tournament team. PAROWAN - Parowan's fine sophomore basketball team went to the Region 8 Sophomore Tournament at Valley High School this past weekend and came away with the Consolation Championship and fourth place. The young Rams had the misfortune of drawing the eventual champion, Panguitch, the first day. It was also unfortunate that Brad Fife, Parowan's 6'3" center played the ballgame with an injured shooting hand and was not at his best. After staying with Panguitch for the first quarter, the Bobcats broke the game open and went on to win 70-43. Brent Rowley led Parowan with 10 points and Daryl Jones added 8. In the second game Parowan faced Piute which was the tournament co-favorite with Panguitch. The teams battled on even terms for the first half, but Piute was ahead at the half 21-24. In the ghird quarter Parowan battled back to tie the score 36-36. In the fourth quarter Parowan jumped out to a 6 point lead then Piute came back to tie the game at 42-42. Then,, in the last few minutes, Parowan got a 2 point ; lead, with 1:19 left Brad Fife hit two free throws to make it 46-42. i Piute came back with a basket to , get within two. Then, with 7 ' seconds to go Brad Fife again hit t two free throws toHce the game. Piute couldn't connect in the , final seconds and Parowan had a 48-44 win. Brad Fife was outstanding out-standing as he had 25 points, Brent Rowley again had 10. On Saturday, Parowan faced Escalante for the Consolation Crown. The Rams jumped to an easy 15-9 first quarter lead behind the shooting of Mike Benson. In the second quarter a series of fast breaks led by Brent Rowley and Mike Robinson pushed Parowan to a 28-14 half-time half-time margin. In the second half the Rams repeatedly broke the Escalante full court press for easy baskets. Daryl Jones and Mike Evans rebounded and scored well during this quarter for Parowan.
