Show BPW Meeting By Candace'Ewlng Members and guests of the Cedar City Business & Professional Women's Club met for the regular dinner meeting at the Town & Country Restaurant Wednesday evening, President Alida VanGroningen presided and introduced guests. Susan Gardner, Career Girl was introduced by Candace Ewing and given a corsage. She responded with a talk in keeping with our Bi-Centennial YearA Prospectus for Women. . Miss Jerry Grills and her accompanist Terry Jenson from SUSC entertained wjth two songs, one was from "Whiz'.' and the other from "Chorus Line" both now playing on Broadway. They were beautifully done. Merna Hansink was sporting an orchid corsage, , a gift from her Relief Society Officers. Eda Maxficld chairman of the "Ways and Means Committee, displayed the finished quilt which will be drawn for at the next meeting. It is a Queen size in red, white, and blue. Dr. Ralph Starr and Mrs, Starr were guests of the club. He was presented by Pauline Nelson. He is a member of the staff at SUSC working in the area of mental health. He explained a new concept called "Explorations in Living" to be tried out in High School and possibly Junior High School to- help young people establish the right social values. President VanGroningen urged members to make reservations for the Utah State Convention to be held in Ogden June 4 and 5. |
