Show Local student graduates from Ricks Academic Aiiairs at kicks. Ricks is the largest privately-owned junior college in America and is operated by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, (Mormon). A local student was among those who received dipolomas from Ricks College, in Rexburg, Idaho, in its spring commencement Thursday June 2. Graduating was Mary Bernice Christensen, daughter of Leon M. Christensen, with an Associate degree in Arts and Sciences. The two year associate degrees and one-year certificates cer-tificates went to 119 students. The June 2nd commencement com-mencement followed the first session of summer school to enable the sophomores to graduate now. They did not have sufficient credits to graduate in April when the annual commencement ceremonies were held. More than 1,000 sophomores received degrees at that time. Speakers included Ricks President Henry B. Eyring who spoke at the graduation banquet and Edred Stephenson, executive assistant to the Dean of |
