Show Register June 13 for SUSC Summer School Students can take a class in drawing and composition, write poetry, take intensive courses in chemistry or languages, or attend any one of several special workshops and seminars being offered as a participant in the Southern Utah State College Summer School Program. "One of the unique features of the summer school program is the amount of flexibility incorporated in-corporated into the schedule," said McRay Cloward, dean of the SUSC School of Continuing Education and Public Services. "The program combines academic offerings, innovative in-novative programming, short sessions and an opportunity op-portunity to combine vacation time with study," Cloward said. Registration for the summer session will be held on June 13 at 8 a.m. in the SUSC Student Center, Large Ballroom. "The best way to see just what is being offered is to pick up a copy of the summer sum-mer school schedule and see which offerings are the most appealing," he said. Schedules are available at the Registrar's Office, Administration Building, or at Dr. Cloward's office, Old Administration Building 203. The first session will be held from June 14 - July 8; the second session begins July 11 and continues through August 5. Some classes, such as personnel administration, microbiology, Shakespeare, Chaucer, geology physicology, and intensive courses in German and chemistry are taught on a regular term basis, from June 13 through August 5. "Also included in the summer curriculum are over 40 special workshops, institutes and tours. Many of these offerings last for a week or less, others last for the entire length of summer school," Cloward said. An application for summer sum-mer school will be required of all students who did not attend SUSC spring quarter. This application may be obtained at the Admissions Office, Administration Building, prior to registration. |
