Show Pa rowan hires new Police Officer who has resigned. The city wishes to announce an-nounce that the official budget hearing for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1977 will be held June 15th at 8 p.m. Public is invited. establish an ordinance that would prevent cars from making U turns between intersections on main street. The city attorney has been asked to draft an ordinance to take care of this. The city will put in more shade trees on Main Street. The shade tree committee wants to put in 25 to 30 more trees along the street. The council discussed the purchasing of a gas pump for city workers use. They now have a large, tank that will be installed either at the city property at the race track or near the fire station. The council approved joining in on emergency housing project that would provide federal funds for insulating houses for low income families. She will replace Carol Wright aaaaaaaa. aaaaaaaaaaai - PAROWAN - Parowan City Council discussed the proposal for a zoning change on property in the mouth of Parowan Canyon from 2nd South, South. The zoning change from residential to commercial was approved by a 3 to 2 vote. The property is mostly city owned with some included belonging to Ralph Orton, Kent Pendleton and Gilbert Mitchell. Chief of police Jim Broadwell. was at the meeting and presented a proposal for his departments proposed budget for the coming fiscal year. This was taken under advisement. He also reported that thirty seven hundred dollars had been received from a state grant to equip a 3rd police officer. This officer's wages will also be paid with federal monies. New officer just hired is Joe Haslem of Beaver and he began duties June 6th. The council discussed a possible meet with Brian Head City Council. Some concern has been expressed about the sewage situation ' there and efforts -will be made to iron out any problems involved. The council wants to |
