Curran noted that, due to overall drought conditions, some visitor conveniences have been curtailed. Spring ' flow is at an all time low, and because of lack of adequate water supply, portable restrooms will be used at the campground and visitor center in place of the more modern facilities usually in use. Curran also reported that travel for May 1977 totaled 20.654, or down 7.000 from May 1976. Yearly travel however, showed a decrease of only 3,300, w ith this year s travel totalling 25.320. as against a total of 28.600 through May 1976. Curran attributed the May decrease in travel to poor weather conditions. |
