Show Moose Hunters enjoy Good Year Preliminary results of the 1976 moose hunt in Utah, as tabulated from the returned mail questionnaires, reveal that hunters experienced a 91 percent success. The preliminary figures are based on a return of 95 percent of the forms. A total of 60 permits were issued for moose hunting this year. The Bear River unit issued 50 permits and showed a preliminary harvest figure of 43 percent. In the Weber-Morgan unit, five permits yielded four moose taken so far. The remaining unit, Cashe-Rich, also issued five permits and reported a 100 percent success. Total moose harvested so far in 1976 is 52. This year's success is shown as 91 percent compared with the overall success average (since 1958) of 63 percent and the 1975 success percentage of 80. |
