Show Barton A. Stapley, active Church worker dies in hospital; honored at services Barton Andrew SLupley age 74 of Summit Utah died December 17, 1976 in Valley View Hospital of natural causes. Born November 4, 1902 to William Francis and Lucy Barton Stapley. Married Polly Amanda Lester October 3, 1942 in Evanston, Wyoming and later solemnized in the St. George Temple. Mrs. Stapley passed from this life in July 1976. Survivors are two step sons and one step daughter Lester and Jeff Miller of California. Mrs. Walt (Celeste) Engilbreath of California, seven grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters Earl of Summit, Blaine and Smith of Cedar City, Frank of Ariz., Mrs. Marvin (Lucille) Jensen of Bountiful, Mrs. Russell (Lolene) Schenck of Provo. Mr, Stapley worked as a powderman for US Steel Iron Mine, A veteran of World War II and an active member of le Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Services were held Tuesday, Dec. 21 at the Summit Ward Chapel with Bishop J. Frank Dalley conducting. Interment In-terment was in the Summit Cemetery under the direction of Boyer Southern Utah Mortuary. Family prayer was offered by Dee El Stapley. The invocation was by Carl Evans with Delos Dalton as the speaker. Benediction was pronounced by Blaine Stapley and the dedicatory prayer was by Kent Stapley. Musical selections included two selections by the Summit Relief Society Chorus accompanied ac-companied by Keith Lawrence. They sang "Rest, Rest for the Weary," and "Now the Day is Over." An organ and piano duet was played by Traycie Dalton and Chad Hulet. Prelude and postlude music was by Chad Hulet. , |
