Show Jay Overson named Iron School President rVj Two members of the board who will complete their terms of office at the end of the year, were also honored, at the board meeting held, at the Parowan Elementary. Oscar J. Hulet, and Dr. J. Garth Chatterley were both presented with pen and pencil sets and recognized for" their many years of service on the board. Neither sought reelection this year. Mr. Hulet will complete ten years of service on the board while Dr. Chatterley will have completed eight of service. Mr. Hulet represented Precinct No. 1-a precinct that was drastically changed in the I reapportionment action of this past year. Under that program ,he no longer resides within the boundaries of the precinct. Dr. Chatterley represented Precinct No. 4. Dr. Chatterley served two four year terms on the board. Both were complimented for their dedication and "many contributions to the youth of Iron County through long service on the Iron County School Board." JAY OVERSON Jay Overson, representative of Precinct No. 5 on the Iron County School Board, was named as president of that body for 1977 in a reorganization move at the regular meeting Monday. Overson, who came on the board to fill an unexpired term of Ken Knight, who moved from the area, was elected to a two-year term on the board in November.. |
