Show : Open House honors Florence Higbee The open house will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. at her home at 142 South 200 West in Cedar City. Mrs. Higbee is a long time resident of Cedar City. She has Friends and relatives of J Florence Spilsbury Higbee have been invited to attned an open house to be held in honor of her j 85th birthday on Tuesday, J December 28. FLORENCE S.1HGBEE been an active worker in the LDS Church and in community affairs. af-fairs. She taught for many years in Toquerville and Cedar City and has been active in politics. Mrs. Higbee was born in Toquerville Dec. 28, 1891 to David and Annie Richards Spilsbury. She was the fifth of ten children. On June 10, 1914, she married Myron F. Higbee in the St. George LDS Temple. Mrs. Higbee graduated from Weber High and from Branch Normal College, now Southern Utah State College, in Cedar City. Prior to her marriage she taught school for two years in Toquerville. Since her marriage in 1910 she has been a resident of Cedar Citv. Mrs. Higbee has three children including Clyde Higbee of Cedar City; Mrs. lone Redford of Seattle, Wash, and Bill Higbee of Eugene, Ore. She also counts in her posterity nine grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. All of her friends are invited to attend and honor her on this special occasion. The family requests no gifts, please. |
