Show Peace Oiiicers Assn. Meet ior Training Sessions . Members of the Tri -State Peace Officers Assn. convened in Cedar City Wednesday for a training session and election of officers for the coming year. During the forenoon members gathered at Sullivan's El Ray Cafe for an FBI school under the direction of Walt Anderson. Utah FBI agent, and the afternoon session ses-sion was devoted to business of the organization, under the direction direc-tion of President Don Kofford, chief ranger at Page, Ariz. Election Elec-tion of officers was to be the highlight of the business session, ses-sion, but results were not available avail-able as this paper goes to press. The Association is made up of law enforcement personnel from agencies of cities, counties, state federal and the fish and game, from Utah, Arizona and Nevada. Principally It is iiinlieu io iiie sections of each state including southwestern Utah, southern Nevada Ne-vada and the northwest sector of Arizona, according to Gary Iverson of the regional office cf the Utah state fish and game department de-partment in Cedar City, publicity chairman of the organization. The association has sponsored a series of informative sessions on law enforcement, its problems and solutions in the past and has, in addition, brought about a better communications and cooperative co-operative effort between the representative rep-resentative agencies and from area to area, as well. |
