Show L. William Mitchell Retires from Provo Teaching lob A note of interest to many local lo-cal residents was a story in the state papers last week telling of the retirement from teaching school of L. William Mitchell, a native ond former resident of Parowan. He is retiring this year after 44 years in that profession, a few years of which was put In in the Parowan schools. Mr. Mitchell has taught in the Provo City school for 34 years, 29 years of which have been spent in the same room at Far-Irer Far-Irer Junior High School. He began be-gan his teaching career at Byron. By-ron. Wyo. In 1916, where he remained re-mained for two years. He return-ed return-ed to his home town at that time and served as principal of the Parowan Elementary School until un-til 1323 when he returned toPro-vo toPro-vo for more schooling at BYU, and after three years teaching In Carbon County re returned to Provo to finish his career. |
