Show Anglers flre Told Of Rules Governing Sport Some of the angling rules to remember were listed today by the Utah Department of Fish and Game. The general angling season begins at 4:00 a.m., Saturday, June 4, and continues through Nov. 30. Fishing hours daily are from 4:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m. All person 12 years of age and older must have a proper license to angle and must display that license visibly on an outer gar-ment gar-ment whenever afield. Angling is defined as fishing with a single line attached to a rod or pole, or trolling board held in the hands or attended and having attached thereto any legal le-gal baits or lures. "Attended" means the angler shall be within ten feet of equipment equip-ment being used at all times. Bag and possession limit for trout is 10 fish or seven pounds and one fish, whichever is caught first. Resident children under twelve may take only four fish or three pounds. Nonresident children under twelve must fish with a licensed angler and any fish they catch must be co"ted in the limit of the licensed angler. an-gler. Weight limits of fish caught will be computed on the dressed fish with heads and tails Intact. Anglnig Is permitted with any bait except game fish or parts thereof and live fish. The eggs of all fish species are permitted for bait Angling Is permitted with any mechanical lure, except no lure shall have more than four gangs of hooks, and no line shall have attached thereto more than two baited hooks or two artificial flies. Multiple prongs attached to a single shaft is defined as one hook. Chumming Is Illegal and It is unlawful to cast, deposit, or cause to be cast or deposited in any wtaers any device, material or substance for the purpose of chumming or baiting the waters so as to cause or Induce fish to gather. There Is no size limit on any fish species that may be taken. Anglers usln boats should be sure of the rules for the water they Intend to fish since a llm-ifed llm-ifed number are closed to such fishlnt; and most waters may be fished only with boats without motors. |
