Show Duffers Will Expose, Driving flbility. In Sunday's Contest Driving Kinge,. which Is In the ptage of preparation in connec-' connec-' tion with the Cedar City Golf .Course, located Northeast of Ce-,dar Ce-,dar City, will be the site of a i "Duffer's Driving Contest," to be j conducted Sunday, June 13. Contest Is under the direction of Bruce Osborne, member of the board of directors of the Golf Association, and is open to anyone any-one interested in participating, t whether they have played golf or not Three special prizes will be offered at the driving contest two for accuracy and the third .for distance. I Driving contest will be held 'from 2 to 4 p. m. Bruce Osborne indicated that the driving range is now marked and open for practice by golfers any time. ' In the contest participants will be allowed three balls in each of the three divisions of the contest con-test ' Distances are well marked at the driving range with tires, and accuracy will also be determined by the tires. The driving range is most easily eas-ily accessible by driving by the Pony League Baseball park and turning North at the Intersection. Intersec-tion. The driving range Is Just two blocks off that intersection. Drivers and Irons will be furnished fur-nished for those who do not have their own clubs and a minimum entry fee Is being charged to handle expenses of the troples which will be awarded. The driving contest is hoped to stimulate interest in the Golf Club and the development of the course. Clearing of the land has been completed and it Is hoped that actual construction of the first nine holes of the proposed 18 hole course will begin in the jvery near future, according to Milt Jolley, president of the club. |
