Show George A. Mitchell Dies in Salt Lake Hospital George A; Mitchell, 78, native and former resident of Parowan, died at a Salt Lake hospital last Friday of a heart ailment. Funeral services for him were held Monday at 2 p. m. In the Larkln Mortuary chapel and bur. lal took place in the Salt Lake City cemetery. Mr. Mitchell was born in Parowan Par-owan Dec. 23, 1878, a son of William Wil-liam Cooke and Augusta Pehr-son Pehr-son Mitchell, and was a resident (I this community for many years, teaching In the Parowan schools. He moved from Parowan1 to Cedar City where he was rep.' resentative for a farm equipment firm and also served as Juvenile judge for Iron .County. He and his family moved from there to Salt Lake .City to reside many years ago. He married Florence Orton of Parowan July 22, 1913 and she and a son, Capt. Homer O. Mitchell, Mitch-ell, Stead Air Force Base, Reno. Nev., and one daughter. Mrs. Marjorie Van Santen, Sacramen-to, Sacramen-to, Calif, survive him. Also sur- vlving are three grandchildren, one Brother, J. Clayton Mitchell, Salt Lake City, and a sister, Mrs. Nellie M. Mortensen, of Ogden. Attending the funeral services from here were the following: Mr. and Mrs. Karl O. Mitchell, Mr. and Mrs. J. 'Harold Mitchell Howard Adams, Hulda M Hulet and It ha Mortensen. They report that Rex C. Ward was the principal prin-cipal speaker at the services and that a nephew, Bart Mitchell sang two solos. |
