Show Little League Expansion HeldOHTil'60 . The governing board of the Cedar Ce-dar City Little League decided Monday night to postpone ex-j pansion of the program to in-' elude two four team leagues until un-til the close of the 1959 season, and to work toward the development devel-opment of a new park in time for the opening of the 19ti0 season. At the same meeting Charles Esplin was elected president of the league for the coming season to succeed Orvil'e Iom, who has served In that capacity this year. Tom Brockmeler was named vice president to succeed Ed DeMoss. j Isom and DeMoss will continue, as members of the board during the coming year. Other boaiJ members will be Farrel Teterson, I Elvln Seeley, Ray Duerksen ami Elloyd Marchant. Secretary and player agent will be appointed ( by the board. i The Klwai is Club had Indicated Indicat-ed a willingness to build a new Little League park, but since it would now be impossible to have it ready for use in time for tho 1959 season, the officers of Little League decided to postpone the, expansion program until after the 1959 season, so that the park I could be ready for use when the two leagues begin play In the spring of 19G0. It was announced at the meeting meet-ing that two tournaments would be held in Cedar City In August with Morgan Rollo as tournament tourna-ment director. The Utah State Touftiament is scheduled for August 7 and 8, and the Division tournaments with champions representing Utah, Nevada, Colorado, Col-orado, Wyoming and Montana participating on Aug. 14 and 15. Winner of the division tournament tourna-ment will participate in th Western Region tournament to be held at Phoenix, Ariz., on Aug. 20, 21 and 22. |
