Show Elks, College Combine To Present Holiday Wrestling Holiday wrestling events, to be .staged by the BPOE Lodge No. 1555 and the College of Southern I Utah athletic department, will be presented In the fieldhouse Monday evening, Dec. 22 begin-. begin-. ning at 8 o'clock Leonard Smith, local promotor, working with promotor Dave Reynolds of Orem, has arranged I a card which feature Utah's outstanding out-standing professional wrestler, Bill Melby. A special attraction for the card was announced late this week that a special eiryt round boxing match pitting popular LaMar Clark of Cedar City against again-st Chuck Barr of Salt Lake City. This special feature will be staged in conjuction with the regular wrestling card and the promoters have assured the public that no additional admission! charges will be tacked onto the price. Clark, who has just returned from a two-match event In Cleveland, Cleve-land, will be making his ftsrt I appearance in Cedar City for a number of months. Melby, weighing in at 216 lbs., will be matched against Lou "Shoulders" Newman, rugged grapplcr from Canada. The main! event will be a two out of three fall match with a one-hour time limit. i Semi-main attraction will pit Vern Taft against Milo the Great. This will also be a two out of three falls match with a 45-minute time limit. Third event will pit Onl Wlkl Wikl against Nelson Royal in a 20-minute time event with one fall to decide the match. Admission prices will remain the same with ringside seats going go-ing at $1.50, general admission at $1.00; students at 75 cents and children under 12 years of I age, 35 cents. |
