Show PARAGON AH NEWS NOTES By Hilma Lamoreaux j Christmas holiday festivities mxe under way in Paragonah as the season draws nearer. On Tusday evening a special Christmas program was present-1 d in MIA meeting. Readings,! musical numbers and a retold story made up the Interesting program. L. N. Asay, THS music treher, was present to render vocal solo. Something new has been added, ad-ded, to the holiday activities as a request goes out to all townspeople towns-people to visit their neighbors And friends during the next two weeks rather than sending greet- Ing cards as usual to those who live in Paragonah and then give to the ward building fund the turn saved from the diminished expenditure on postage and Christmas cards. Everyone Is invited in-vited to try this method and en-Joy en-Joy visiting with their friends and loved ones as well as helping help-ing to swell the building fund. Tuesday afternoon in Relief Society So-ciety meeting a Christmas party vras held with refreshments of home made candy and popcorn balls being served and lovely gifts exchanged. I On Sunday appropriate pro-I pro-I grams will be presented In the ; church meetings. A short Christ-I Christ-I mas cantata for the very young i is being given by the Junior Sun-j Sun-j day School. On Wednesday eve-ninlng, eve-ninlng, Dec. 21, the annual Christ-! Christ-! mas tree program will be held in the Ward chapel under the direction di-rection of the local Primary officers. offi-cers. All Primary children will I participate and Santa Claus has promised to be on hand with 'special treats for the children. The program will begin at 7:30 p. m. and everyone Is Invited to be present, j Mr. and Mrs. John Williamson returned home last week after an extended stay in Richfield with their son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Ruby McBrlde. Mrs. McBrlde Is In very poor health land has been In and out of the j hospital after being repeatedly stricken with strokes. Mrs. Annie Talhot arrived home 'on Thursday of last week after her stay In the hospital for surgery sur-gery and a convalescent period spent at the home of her daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Beth Fairbanks. Mrs. Mary Prothero lias been seriously ill for the past several days. The attending physician I pronounced her illness to tie pneumanla. Mrs. Prothero has been bedfast for several years 1 with arthritis. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Jones have received word of the birth of a new niece. The baby was born recen'ly to Mr. and Mrs. Mac Oct ting of Oardena. Calif. Mrs. Dotting will be remembered as the former Pat Fratulson, one time resident of Par a;:nah. Mrs. Yvonne L"W was over from Beaver on Friday of list week. She and licr mother, Mrs Miriam Anderson., travilod to Cedar Ce-dar City to snend part of the day. Mr. and Mrs. Chester.Robinson were week end visitors to Provo traveling there on Friday and returning home on Sunday. They were guests of Irene's sister. Mrs. Orval Ashton and her family. Primary In-service meeting was held on Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. Roene Lund. Following the regular activities a Christmas party was held with appropriate games and refresh-' ments. Mr. and Mrs. Renford Tr.lbot and son Jerry enjoyed n week end trip to Salt Lake City where they visited with relatives. They drove up on Friday and returned return-ed home Sunday. Herbert Topham of Los Angeles Angel-es was In town for several days during the past week. A former resident of Paragonah, Mr. Top-ham Top-ham returned to attend to some details concerning the sale of his home here. The property was purchased by Mr. and Mrs. Bert Robb. Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Lund and daughter Gayle enjoyed a week end trln to Boulder City. Nev. to take Wilson's mother, Mrs. Jane Patterson, to the Nevada city for the winter months. After an overnight over-night stay with the Robert Arm-brust Arm-brust family, the Lund's returned return-ed home. Mr. and Mrs. Orson Talbot are rejoicing over the news that their son Bob Is on his way home from overseas service with the Army. Bob was supposed to leave Germany Ger-many in November but had a disappointing wait for transpor- Jtatlon. However the later orders were to leave Dec. 9 for the trip , by ship. j Young Lee Abbott, son of Mr. j and Mrs. Myron Abbott, is home j again after a visit with the Tom ' Abbotts In Murray. Lee made the trip to Paragonah with his grand-father, grand-father, Roy Benson, of Parowan. |
