Show Cedar City Thinclads Invade Dixie For Week End Meets Track teams from College of Southern Utah and Cedar High School will head south this week end to open the 1962 season. Both teams will compete In meets to be hosted by Dixie College Col-lege at St. George. Friday afternoon 4 p. m. at the College of Southern Utah Thun-birds Thun-birds will meet the Dixie Rebels in a dual meet with the "Axe", symbol of athletic supremacy, to be awarded to the team with the highest team points. Saturday the Cedar High School Redmen will compete In the Annual Dixie Invitational Meet which gets underway at 10 a. m. with most of the high schools In the southern Utah area, as competitors. For Coach Bruce Osborne and the T-Birds and for Coach Hal Norton and his Redmen it will be the first taste of competition this season. Coach Norton is hoping that his team can defend the State Class B title that they have won for the past two years. He indicated indi-cated that he will be strong In the middle distances and in the field events. Coach Osborne stated that his Thunderblrds will be weak in the field but should come up with strong middle distance and distance dis-tance men. |
