American Little League Set Tryout Dates Doug Lunt, newly elected president pre-sident of the Cedar City Ameri-1 can Little League, announces that try-outs for the league will begin Saturday, April 14, and urges all boys interested in trying try-ing out for positions on the teams to report at the proper periods. On the first day, Saturday, April 14, nine-year-olds will meet with managers and officials from 9:00 to 10:00 a. m., ten-year-olds from 10 to 11 a. m., and 12-year-olds from' 11 a. m. to noon. During the next ten days regular reg-ular tryouts will be held at the ball diamonds east of town, from 5:30 to 7:00 p. m. wi,th each age groups to meet as follows: Nine year old boys on Monday, April 16; Monday, April 23, and Thursday, April 26. I Ten year old boys on Tuesday, April 17; Tuesday, April 24, and Saturday, April 28. On the final day the boys will meet from 9:04 to 10:30 a. m. Eleven and 12 year old boys on Wednesday, April 18; Wednesday, Wednes-day, April 25, snd Saturday, Al'jii 23, wilii iiie niceling for Saturday set at 10:30 a. m. to noon. Mr. Lunt points out that any boy who fails to qualify for a Little League team will be placed plac-ed on a Minor League team and given an opportunity, to play regularly. Boys whose birthdays fall between be-tween the 16th and 31st of any month will participate in the American League. |
