Show Greek Play Production Dates Announced By Drama Department Dates for the College of Southern South-ern Utah Campus Community Theatre production for spring quarter were announced this week by Fred Adams, director. The Greek tragedy "Antigone", written by Sophocles more than 2000 years ago, will be staged on May 10, 11 and 12, he stated. He Indicated that the rlsv will be done in stylized costu.ncs and sets. Wendell Heatr.n of Kanab will play the leading role of Chorus with Gaylynn Sherratt of Cedar City to perform the difficult role of Antigone. Other leads will include in-clude Creon, by Howard Jensen, Redmond; Ismene, by Judy Ash-croft Ash-croft of Cedar City, and Russ Mc-ginn Mc-ginn of Milford will take the role of Haemon. The play Involves the sacrifice sacri-fice made by Antigone to prevent pre-vent the degradation of her brother's bro-ther's body after his death. Tho eyents which take place prove the author's philosophy that the individual Is more important than the state. |
