Show SUMMIT By Dona Davenport The Evening of Music in our MIA last Tuesday evening was a big success. YMMIA president Arden Richards was in charge of the entertainment. Vocal groups from all of the ward organizations or-ganizations were enoyed along with family groups, and Shirley Farrow, Rolayne Walker and Jeanne White each played piano solos. Robert Walker played a saxophone solo. A number of our high school students traveled to St. George Friday evening to attend the Cedar Ce-dar High Dixie High basketball basket-ball game. They included Donna Gayle Fife, Gail Ann Humph-erys, Humph-erys, Kay RichaHs, Sheral Davenport, Dav-enport, Kathleen Dalley and Rob-' Rob-' ert Walker. Our Seminary students were in j Cedar City Saturday morning for the movie, "The Ten Command-( Command-( ments." Last Monday evening our Jr. M-Men basketball team plavl a team of married men from the town. The boys won the game, played at the Parowan High gym by one point. Boys on the Jr. M-I M-I Men team are Robert Walker, I Dick Farrow, Kent and Keith Humpherys, Michael Stapley, Darryl Davenport, Dennis and David Dalley and on the married men's tern were Dee El Stapley, Carlysle Hulet. Arden Richards. Carl Evans and Rudger Fife. Mr. and Mrs. Leland Dalley of St. George were overnight visitors visit-ors here last week. Mr. and Mrs. Frank Dalley and family attended sacrament meeting meet-ing at the Second Ward in Cedar City Sunday, where their son Eugene Eu-gene graduated from Primary. This is the ward in which the Dalleys resided before moving to Summit and Eugene continued with his Primary work there as he would have been alone in a class here. Jay Davenport, Ray and Lyle Farrow spent Wednesday and Thursday of last week working in the St. George Temple, and Boyd Walker was there for the Wednesday sessions. They also visited at the rest home with Mrs. Ray Grimshaw, who is greatly improved since going to St. George. Mrs. Minnie Dalley and her sister, Mrs. Leone Rasmussen, went to Cedar City one day last week to visit their folks, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hulet, who were there for the day from their home in St. George. |
