Show Utah Legislators 7illTour Cedar City Area A large group of state legislators legis-lators will visit Cedar City Saturday Sat-urday afternoon, and will be entertained en-tertained by the Congressional and Legislative committee of the Cedar City Chamber of Commerce and the College of Southern Utah, during the biief stajr here. The legislators will be enroute back to the state capital after a trip to the Glen Canyon dam. and will stop off here for a short stay. The group is expected to arrive ar-rive at the municipal airport at about 1:00 p.m., where they will be met and taken on a brief tour of the city before going to the College of Southern Utah campus cam-pus for an extensive tour of facilities fac-ilities there. The visitors will also be served luncheon at the college, col-lege, at which time Dr. Royden C. Braithwaite, College Director, will give a welcoming address. A musical program will be presented pre-sented under the direction of Professor Roy L. Halversen. To Inspect Charcoal Plant The legislators will be taken from the airport to the new charcoal char-coal briquette plant and the excelsior ex-celsior plant, where an explanation explana-tion will be given of the contribution contri-bution of these industries to the -economy of Cedar City. The group will then be taken to the livestock live-stock auction barn and on to the College Experimental Farm, then to the sites of the new high school and county hospital, with plans for development outlined. On this tout the new city culinary culin-ary water system will be outlined. out-lined. From here the visitors will be -taken to the recreation parks, and proposed developments of an amphitheatre am-phitheatre and the new golf course will be pointed out At the College of Southern Utah the legislators will be taken ta-ken on a tour of all facilities on the campus before the luncheon is served, and the legislators will return to the airport to continue . their flight to Salt Lake City. |
