Show WALT LUNT CHAIRMAN County Heart Fund Aids Named Walter Lunt of Cedar City will be chairman of the 1961 Heart Fund campaign which opened in Cedar City and throughout the nation on February 1. The month of February has been proclaimed throughout the Nation as National Nation-al Heart Month. The fund-raising drive will reach its high point on Heart Sunday, Feb. 26 when volunteers throughout the county will call on their neighbors for contributions. contribu-tions. In accepting the appointment as chairman Mr. Lunt pointed out that local Heart Fund contributions con-tributions make possible the support sup-port of cardiovascular research in Utah, and aid scientists in clinics and university laboratories laborator-ies throughout the nation. Research, he said, has top program and, in the past 12 years, has been responsible for great progress in saving hearts through new methods of diagnosis, diagno-sis, treatment and prevention. Several individuals and organizations organ-izations have accepted responsibilities responsi-bilities for the month long campaign cam-paign and still others must be named to complete the organization, organiza-tion, Lunt stated. In Cedar City the campaign will be directed by Mrs. Tracy Blood, president of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and by Mrs. Nettie Baldwin of the American Legion Auxiliary. Leonard Davis will direct actiities acti-ities in Kanarraville. Chairmen in other areas of the county have not yet been named. Mr. Lunt also announced the appointment of Herman' Anderson Ander-son as treasurer and Indicated that contributions can be forwarded for-warded to either Mr. Anderson or himself, or simply directed to the Cedar City Post Office. |
