Show Iron County Weed Committee Organized j The newly organized Iron County Weed Committee held Its first meeting last Thursday, according ac-cording to Wallace Sjoblom. Iron County agent The chairman of the new committee Is Earl Bunn, who is serving as Commissioner of Agriculture. Community representatives rep-resentatives from the different areas who have been asked to serve are as follows. Willard Williams, Kanarra: Mayor Arnold Anderson, Cedar City; L. F. Luke, Cedar Valley; Louis Maxwell, Enoch and Mid- valley; Dee White, Summit; Mr. Bunn, Parowan; Doyle Robinson,1 Paragonah; Sterling Tullls, New-castle; New-castle; Ray Hunt, Beryl; Richard Thorley, Modena; Edward Fife, state road commission; Earl Anderson, An-derson, county weed supervisor; Horace Hall, district agricultural agricultur-al Inspector, and Wallace Sjoblom, Sjo-blom, county agent Louis A. Jensen, extension Ag ronomist from the Utah State University, was asked to discuss the Job of county weed committee, commit-tee, with suggestions on how It might be most effective in carrying carry-ing out a county weed control program. In addition to encouraging encour-aging farmers In their areas to control the weeds on their farm land, the commltee hopes to be able to complete a week survey that will be helpful in determining determin-ing what the problem is and what should be done about It |
