Show Redmen Win Region Baseball Title, Enter State Play-offs Cedar High School completed the Region Ten baseball season Wednesday afternoon with a 20-to 20-to 1 defeat of the Enterprise Wolves at Enterprise. The win .gave them the Region Ten crown and the right to enter the State Class B semi-finals. Cal Hair was on the mound for the Redmen, allowing four hits in the run-away game. Cedar Redmen in the past two years of competition have taken the state championship and finished fin-ished second. They will be shooting shoot-ing for a third chance at the title ti-tle again this year. Although no definite time has been set the Redmen will meet the winner of the Region Four league in and around UJf.h county either Thursday or Friday Fri-day of next week. Actual date is at the option of the two participating par-ticipating teams at the home field of the Region Four champs. In an earlier game this week the Rodmen with Gary Anderson on the mound won a 9 to 1 contest con-test over South Sevier High at Monroe. At the end of seven innings in-nings the Redmen had a 3 to 1 lead and garnered six runs in the final two innings of play. Cedar fans will have an op-portunty op-portunty to see the Redmen in action Monday and Tuesday as they meet South Sevier on the local field Monday afternoon at 3 and the College of Southern Utah Tuesday at the same hour. |
