Show Llilf ord to Host Region Track Meet; Redmen Strong in Sprint Events One of the highlights of the 1959 track and field seassa for high schools will be the Region Ten meet to be held at Mllford Saturday, May 2. This meet, according ac-cording to coaches and fans, will be one of the top meets of the year, barring none. It Is expected that several records rec-ords will fall, and U is even more certain that State Class B champions cham-pions will be vying for honors at this meet before entering the state-wide competition. Cedar City High School Red-men, Red-men, coache1 by Hal Norton, will go Into the meet a co-favorite with the Millard Eagles of Fillmore. Fill-more. These two schools will be battling it out all the way for! the region honors, but the two squads, only in some instances, do not conflict In their featured events. Cedar Redmen are stacked in the sprinting events led by Gary Anderson, top sprinter in the state, who will be shooting for four region marks Saturday. He is backed by Larry Anderson, Ron Prince, Danny Lindsay, Rog ( er Halterman and others. j Millard, on the other hand, is, strong in the middle distances and some field events and likewise like-wise is strong in the mile relay and the medlay relay. In addition to Anderson some Detention state champions to appear ap-pear at the Region Ten meet Include In-clude Jackson, the hurdler from Fillmore; David Bown, shot putter put-ter from Milford, and Goff, a 440 phenomenon from Beaver. Dinny Lindsay of Cedar will be pushing Jackson In the hurdles. hur-dles. Cedar will almost certainly take the 100, 220 yard dashes and the 880 yard relay. A fourth first place is in the making with An-I An-I derson taking up broad Jumping I this past week.
