Show Iron County Reveals Gains in Bond Sales j Francis W. Betenson, county savings bonds chairman, announced an-nounced that purchases of serls E and H savings bonds in Iron County were reported at $2922 for the month of September. Total county sales for the nine months are reported at $67,379 or 74.9 of Its goal for the 1957 year, Betenson announced. On the state level sales figures fig-ures released indicated' a total of $924 696 of the series E and H savings bonds. . With the beginning of the new school term, the savings stamp program throughout the state was on the increase, state director direc-tor Clem S. Schramm, reported. "September's tabulations on the schools operating the program were up 22 over September of last year, as more parents and school officials were advocating its use as a teaching aid and as a practical method of encouraging encour-aging thrift." Iron County's 74.9 of its quota quo-ta is well above the state which was recorded at 65.2 at the end of the nine month period. Two counties, Kane and Wasatch, however, have already exceeded their quotas, with Sanpete county coun-ty following with 90.8. Total sales for the nine month period In the state was reported at $12,704,816. |
