Show Parowan Voters Urged To Check Lists With the last registration day before the General election on Nov. 5, set for next Tuesday, Oct. 29, voters in the three Parowan voting districts are urged to go to the poll books and make sure that their name is on the list, so here can be no question when you go to the polls on election day. , Citizens who did not vote in the last general election in 1956, will need to register if they plan to vote this year, and those residents resi-dents who have turned 21 years of age since the 1956 election will also have to register if they expect to vote In the municipal election Nov. 5. And it might be well for others to check and make certain that their names are on the voting lists in their respective districts. Also those who have moved from one voting district to an- other since last elections should i go to the registry agent In their old voting district and get a transfer to the voting district in which they now reside. Registration agents In the three Parowan voting districts are, No. 1 Ivy Ward; No. 2, Mrs. Lillian Heap, and No. 3. Mrs. Cecil Ce-cil Adams, and their offices arc in their homes. These ladies will be on hand next Tuesday to register reg-ister all eligible voters in their districts, whose names are not now on the voting lists. In the municipal election on Tuesday. Nov. 5, a mayor and two councilmen will be elected to fill vacancies in that body of members whose terms expire the first of the year. Both the Democratic and Republican Re-publican parties met last week and placed candidates in nomination nom-ination for these offices. On the Democratic ticket, Ralph Orton was named for mayor, and J. W. Moore and Carol A. Wright were nominated for councilmen. The choice of the Republican party was Howard Joseph for mayor and Aird G. Merkley and Morris Rasmussen for councilmen. The winners will serve for four-year terms In the city administration. |
