Show Green's Lake Project Contracts Let To Initiate Program After many months of delay on the Cedar City flood control project, known as the Green's Lake project, two minor contracts con-tracts were awarded during the week by the Bureau of Land Management. The two contracts are for removal re-moval of Juniper trees on the face of the mountain and reseed-ing reseed-ing of the area at a cost cost of approximately $4,000, the first to be let on the $250,000 project, de-signed de-signed to protect Cedar City from flash floods which occasionally pour into the city from the steep side hills. A contract for seedbed prepara-tion prepara-tion and tree removal was awarded to Jim Culverwell of Green River. His bid for 400 hours of tractor operation was $3,400. The second contract was awarded the Park-Air Flying Service for reseding approxim- ately 800 acres of land, at a cost of $550.00. These contracts include only work on federally controlled lands, with an additional 800 acres of private land to be reclaimed re-claimed by project sponsors. Work is expected to begin as soon as weather enditions permit. |
