Operatic Production Selected By CSU Music Dept The American opera "Down inj the Valley" has been selected for presentation by the College of Southern Utah music department. Dr. Blaine Johnson, director, reports re-ports that the date for the production pro-duction has not yet been selected. select-ed. Raymond Munford of Cedar City, will sing the lead role. Ro-bert Ro-bert Moss, a former Dixie College Col-lege student, and Richard Christiansen, Chris-tiansen, Escalante, will also be prominently cast in the opera. "Down in the Valley," based . upon American folktunes, was selected for presentation on the NBC television series featuring I American opera in September. Composer Kurt Weill completed I the opera in 1937. Dr. Johnson indicated thut the I story revolves around a dramatic drama-tic situation among the "poor white" in the deep south.
