Show Senator A. V. Watkins Plans County Visit Senator . Arthur V. Watkins i will be a visitor in Parowan and Cedar City Thursday. Oct. 31. j During the full-day program he will meet with high school students, stu-dents, hold a general legislative clinic, tliseuss Fede.-al government govern-ment activities, and confer with Republican party leaders and members in Iron County. Morning meetings are being requested for the Senator's talks with the students at 9:30 in Parowan Paro-wan and at 11 in Cedar City. An evening Cedar City meeting beginning be-ginning at 7:30 will be given over to Individuals and groups .vh' wish to discuss projects or problems of Congress and the Federal Government during the Senator's non-partisan clinic. "Whenever time between sessions ses-sions of Congress permits, I always al-ways enjoy this opportunity to visit the counties of our state, particularly to hear the views of local residents regarding Government Govern-ment matters," Senator Watkins said. "Out of just such talks and meetings comes Inspiration for; new programs, fresh insights in-' to local activities and plans, and particularly with the students an opportunity to explain some1 of the fundamental aims and workings of their government and to hear their points of view." In Iron County, Senator Watkins Wat-kins said, he will be particularly particular-ly interested in water-conservation developments and plans, ag-ricultural ag-ricultural and livestock conditions, condi-tions, educational activities, com munity programs, national and state pirks developments, highway high-way and national forest Improvements, Improve-ments, and industrial-business planning. School arrangements are being made with Parowan Principal Max S. Dalley and Cedar City Principal Pratt M. Bethers. Use of Cedar City Hall space for the clinic is being requested with W. Clair Rowley, county clerk. The party meeting is being arranged ar-ranged with William T. Smith, County Republican chairman. |
