Show Broncos to Tackle Northern Rivals For ICfl Conference Honors Outcome College of Southern Utah Broncos put their hopes for Intermountain Collegiate Athletic Conference honors on the line Saturday night at Bronco Stadium in Boise, Ida. where they meet the Boise Junior College to determine the I C AC lead. Game time is set for 8:15 p. m. ' C S U and Boise are the only undefeated teams remaining re-maining in the I C A C race this season and the victor in this came will take over undisputed lead and more than likely the I C A C crown. Doise Junior College has yet to be tied or defeated in I C A C play as it has taken or at least shared In the conference title since being a member of the conference. The only timi they have even shared the championship was last season when they were tioJ by Dixie College. Both had undefeated un-defeated records as the two clubs did not meet In the 1956 season. Coach Bruce Osborne will take a 33-man squad to the Idaho cap-It.. cap-It.. 1, leaving Cedar City Friday morning at 5:30 on the Bronco bus. The squad will stay at Jer-om, Jer-om, Idaho Friday night and will conduct a light workout at Jerome that evening. The team will move Into Boise Saturday in preparation for the game and return to Cedar City Sunday. j The Broncos of C S U will go Into the game at nearly full i strength. Only question on the, C S U roster will be Wendel Ilea. ton at fullback, who was out ef action for the C S U homecoming game last Thusday against Snow College, and possibly Dennis Hansen, who suffered an injury In the homecoming game. How- ever, both are expected to make the trek. Coach Osborne indicated that he will take to Boise the strongest strong-est club he has ever had In the four years of coaching at C S U. He feels that if ever the Broncos have had an opportunity to give the Broncos of Boise a battle for the title it Is this season. ' Weather will play an import ant part in Saturday's contest. Good weather will definitely be to the advantage of the C S U club. They will attempt to play a wide-open offense from the T formation against the heavier Boise line. Boise, on the other hand, plays from the single wing and relies on power piays ior iu gains. Bad weather will hamper iiie wiue-uptrii attack ui C o u more than it will 'the ground game of Boise. Coach Osborne also Indicated that he will employ a shifting, defense against the Boise club.! Boise lines up In the T formation I for the purpose of getting blocking block-ing assignments, then shifts into the single wing. Coach Osborne's! defense will shift at the same time as the Boise offense. In an attempt to throw the northerners off-guard. Only time will tell, but, the C S U Broncos are faced this week with their toughtest assignment assign-ment of the season, and a victory vic-tory over the favored Boise club would be a highlight in the ICAC football play and a never-to-be-j forgotton victory at C S U. |
