Show Field Day Scheduled Jit The Pines Reseeding Project A field day will be held Wednesday, Wed-nesday, July 30, at. the Pines Bange Reseeding project under the supervision of the Utah section sec-tion of the American Society of Bange. Management, according Albert Albertson, president. The Pines project is a Forest Service project located about 15 miles southwest of Panguitch on both sides of the Bryce Canyon highway. The project consists of about 33,000 acres of sagebrush sage-brush and other range lands that have been planted to crested wheat and other grasses during dur-ing the past few years to improve im-prove range and watershed conditions con-ditions on the East Fork of the Sevier river. Most .of the plantings have been successful Mr. Albertson states, and he says that anyone Interested in seeing a large patch of grass thriving in the dry southern Utah area should join the society on this tour. The tour will start from the courthouse in Panguitch at 9 a. nv July 30, Mr. Albertson says, and the group will return to Panguitch Pan-guitch at about 4 p. m. The committee for the tour, consisting of Ward Cuff, Garfield County agent, and Rangers Max Rees and Grant Williams, have arranged for a bus to take anyone any-one who would prefer to make the trip -in this manner, at a price of 50 cents per passenger. Everyone should take his own lunch. Soft drinks and coffee will be furnished, Mr. Albertson said. |
