Utah Fish and Game Commission Sets Dates For Sage Grouse, Pheasant Hunting Seasons The Utah Fish and Game commission set the season for the sage grouse hunt as well as the opening date for this fall's pheasant season during its quarterly quar-terly meeting early in July. The commission also made its recom- mendations to the U. S. Fish and Wildlife Service for the mourning mourn-ing dove season this year. Only the opening day for the pheasant hunt was set This was scheduled for Saturday noon, November No-vember 8. This date was set for the convenience of those who might wish to plan their time for this hunt No season' length, bag or possession limits, or other controlling con-trolling factors governing the hunt will be set until further information in-formation regarding this year's pheasant crop is available. Hunting Hunt-ing areas and number of permits for each, are as follows: Beaver, 25; Minersville, 25; Panguitch Lake, 30; Bear Valley, 100; Dog Vallep, 60; Grass Valley, Val-ley, 100; Seven Mile, 25; Vernon, 25; Diamond Mountain, 50 Blue Mountain, 50; Fremont, 50; Park-er Park-er Mountain, 100; Strawberry, 50. Application for permits on all units will be received by mail only in the offices of the Fish and Game commission, and postmarked post-marked not later than 12 midnight, mid-night, Aug. 17. If more applications applica-tions are received for any given unit than the number of permits per-mits alloted to that unit, a public pub-lic drawing will be held.
