Show Fish, Game Law Violations Drop This Year A decrease in the number of violations during the busiest sixty six-ty days of the outdoor season is noted this year as compared to 1950, State Fish and Game Department De-partment officials report. Three hundred ninety-two violations are noted for the past October-November October-November period as compared with 512 for the same period last year. The period noted Includes the closing days of the fishing season sea-son as well as the extensive hunts for deer, elk, upland birds, migratory waterfowl and other game. It appears that greater numbers participated in the pursuit pur-suit of fish and game this year than ever before In Fish and Game Department history, officials offi-cials said. More than half the violations were connected with the big game hunts. A majority of these concerned failure to tag animals killed, failure to properly tag, and failure to check in or out of designated checking stations. Bird hunting violations Included Includ-ed shooting before hours, possession pos-session of hen pheasants, hunting hunt-ing out of season, and hunting in closed areas. Several migratory migra-tory bird hunters were in violation viola-tion for failure to possess a federal fed-eral stamp or for not having a plug in their gun. |
