Show Eisenhower Leads in BAC Presidential Poll If General Dwight D. Eisenhower Eisen-hower ran for president on either the Republican or Democratic ticket he would be elected if students stu-dents at Branch Agricultural college col-lege had their way. In a poll taken by members of the Current Political Problems class at the college, 39 percent of the students who said they were Republicans voted for General Gen-eral Eisenhower, but a much higher percentage, 59 percent, of those who called themselves Democrats, voted for him. President Truman came in a poor third on the poll with only 17 percent of the votes cast by the Democrats, and made no showing among independent voters. vot-ers. Senator Robert A. Taft ranked second among the students polled on the Republican side, but Gov. Earl Warren was only one vote behind. Othors mentioned on the poll were Harold Stassen and General Douglas MacArthur. Others listed by the Democratic Democra-tic voters were Governor Warren, who polled higher than President Truman; Chief Justice Fred Vinson, Vin-son, Senator Taft, and General MacArthur. Of the 298 students who returned return-ed their sample ballots, 163 said they tended to favor the Republican Repub-lican party, 112 the Democratic party, and 11 were undecided or preferred a third party.
