Show Parent-Teacher Unit Calls for Real Christmas Spirit Citing the celebration of Christmas Christ-mas as an occasion for enjoying the spirit of giving rather than for collecting as many presents as possible, parents and teachers of Cedar Junior high school discussed dis-cussed the social, scholastic and spiritual needs of seventh grade students at a meeting of the Parent-Teachers' Assn. Wednesday. Mrs. Morris Roberts, P-TA president presi-dent of the school was in charge. Many of the parents attending attend-ing the meeting Joined in the discussion, agreeing that young people are in need of a return to the deeper meaning of Christmas. The concensus was also that students should be required "to do some homework, which should be increased as they progress through the upper grades. The social lives of the young people should include a supervised super-vised program of monthly daryes, a majority of the parents agreed. L. C. Miles, principal of the school, conducted the discussions. |
