Show Knife and Fork Club Speaker Tells Of Indian Culture Members of the Escalante Knife and Fork club enthusiastically enthusiastic-ally received Charles Eagle Plume, America's foremost interpreter inter-preter of the life and culture of the American Indian, at the second sec-ond lecture meeting of the organization or-ganization at El Escalante hotel Saturday evening. The visiting speaker, in addition addi-tion to interpreting Indian customs cus-toms through song, dance and interesting in-teresting descriptions, brought to the audience a strong message of the need of the American Indian, In-dian, particularly for education and understanding. He clarified the problem of the Indian in facing fac-ing the world under conditions in America today, and at the same time pleasantly enter tained his listeners with a sparkling spark-ling wit. It has been announced by club officers, that since much dissatisfaction dissatis-faction was expressed about the first speaker of the current season, sea-son, the International organization organiza-tion has agreed to provide another an-other speaker to the local club free of charge. The speaker will probably be Bruce Thomas, Internationally In-ternationally known free lance correspondent. His tentative date of appearance will be Jan. 9, Edwin L. Peterson, secretary of the club, announces. The next regularly scheduled meeting of the club will be Saturday, Sat-urday, Dec. 1, with Imre Kovacs, a native of Hungary as speaker. His subject will be "Red Runs the Danube", dealing with world problems of today and the chances of a third world war. |
