Show $4,550 Calf Bought At Ogden Show Dr. John Beal and Fred L. Biederman, Bie-derman, two local purebred livestock live-stock breeders, added one of the finest bred Herefords to their herd when they . purchased an outstanding bull calf at the Ogden Og-den livestock show last week. The two breeders paid $4,550.00 for the 10-month old Hereford bull, M. W. Zato Larry the 4th, from the Milky Way Ranch at Phoenix, Ariz. Outbidding breeders breed-ers from all parts of the western states, the local breeders were able to bring this outstanding individual into southern Utah. The young bull is now on the Beal ranch in Cedar valley, and will head the breeding herds of the Beal and Biederman ranches. The calf comes from a very prominent Hereford strain. His sire was Zato Aristocrat, a bull for whom his owners refused $80,000 for a half interest. The dam of Aristocrat was sold for $35,000, the highest price paid in history for a cow. Cattle breeders of the state feel that this is one of the most important additions to Utah herds made in many years. |
