Show i I Utah Company Offers j Awards in Sheep Name Contest ; Some Future Farmer, 4-H club i member or wool grower in this i area may find himself $50 clol- lars richer next Jan. 22. j In a contest announced re- 4 cents by officials of the Salt I Lake Union Stockyards, the FFA. and 4-H club members in the1 ? state will compete for two $50 i Defense Bonds donated by that organization. Members of the Utah Wool Growers Association will also compete for a $50 bond, j The purpose of the contest is to select names for three out- j standing purebred Rambouillet i rams to be used in a research I project conducted by the Utah Agricultural Experiment Station. I One of the rams will be named I by the FFA, one by the 4-H, and j the other by members of the wool grower association, s The three rams along with ap- :i proximately 80 Rambouillet ewes will be used in a project de- f signed to ..improve the open-face f condition and increase the length 1 of wool in Rambouillet sheep, j The research project has been . made possible largely through a I ; 52D.U0Q research grant which the ' Kennecott Copper Corporation gave to the Utah Agricultural j Experiment Station. It is plan- ned that a portion of this grant will be used to purchase out- i standing open-faced Rambouil- 1 lets in Utah and in other states. I FFA and 4-H club members in this area can get their entry i blanks for the contest at the county agent's office or from their instructor of vocational ag- Sricult ure.
