Show . I Successful Parents Day Program Held at High School A very successful Parents Day was held at the Parowan high school last Thursday, reports Principal Walter K. Daly. At that time the parents of all high school students were invited to attend school and classes which their children attend every day. The affair was held in the evening eve-ning so that more parents, and especially the fathers, could attend. at-tend. The class periods were cut to 15 minutes each, so all classes held each day could be held during dur-ing the evening. But during this 15-minute period the teacher was able to explain to the parents what the subject was about and discuss with them some of the problems encountered each day. The classes started at 7:30 p. m. and ran until all classes had been held, after which all visitors visit-ors assembled in the library where refreshment were served by the high school Parent-Teachers Association. . Principal Daly informs us that a total of 130 parents registered for classes during the evening, representing the 225 students in the school. Mr. Daly and the far culty figured this was about a two-thirds representation, as in many cases one parent represented represent-ed two or more 1 students. |
