Show Show Early Promise Starters Named ForCSU Hoop Opening The big cut in the Bronco basketball bas-ketball squad for the 1955-56 season was made by Coach Cleo Petty last Friday evening when he reduced his squad to 15 men. Only one more cut remains and that will not be made untU a later la-ter date, the coach indicated. Coach Petty anticipates carrying carry-ing a 12 man squad this year but he indicated that he will give each of the 15 men still on the squad an opportunity to show his worth under fire in some of the pre-season games before he cuts to a 12 man squad. At the present time Coach Petty Pet-ty is busy drilling his 13-man squad in preparation for the opening game of the season for the Broncos on Doc. 3 in the C S U fieldhouse. That game is with an ever-powerful Chaffey College. Game time is 8 p. m. On Thursday, Dec. 8 the Broncos Bron-cos entertain Compton College and on the 10 they met Tyler Junior College of TyJer, Texas, all on the home floor. Holiday Tourney A two-day holiday tournament featuring C S U, Dixie, Westminster Westmin-ster and Fullerton of California wUl be held here on Dec. 22 and 23. On the 22nd C S U meets Westminster while Dixie plays Fullerton College. On Saturday Dec. 23 the opponents will be reversed. Prior to cuts Friday, following regular practice Coach Petty experimented ex-perimented by having the 24 men trying out for the squad ballot for the 15 men they thought should make the grade. Coincl-dentally Coincl-dentally the 15 men chosen by the squad concided with the 15 selected by Coach Petty.
