Show C S U Organizations Win Dixie Tree Cutting Rights Christmas trees in the Cedar City area are going to aid in beautifying a portion of the College Col-lege of Southern Utah campus. The Engineers c.'uh and Intercollegiate Inter-collegiate Knights received word Tuesday from Grant Seaman, for est ranger for Dixie National Forest, For-est, that the organizations were successful high bidders to cut 500 Christmas' trees. j A central location will be sot up whereby the members of the clubs will centralize selling ac-1 tivitles. Then the money from the project will bo turned over to the beautifieation of a spot in the campus. This idea was conceived to further the many projects of landscaping which have been improving im-proving the overaJI growth and beauty at CSU. The trees, to be taken from the forest south of the Navajo Lake area, are not too plentiful surrounding sur-rounding this section, and because be-cause of the early deep snow, It will require great effort to transport trans-port the trees from the forest to Cedar City, according to Mr. Seaman. Dean Maxwell, Cedar City, president pre-sident of the Engineers club, and LeRoy Coleman, Teasdale, Wayne county, president of the IK's, are organizing the details through with the cooperation of their advisors ad-visors Theron Ashcroft, chairman chair-man of the physics department, and Major Ralph Kelley, assist ant professor of air science. |
