Show Students, Teachers Unite For Holiday Dinner Nearly 300 students, faculty members and employees at the East Elementary joined together Tuesday noon for a festive Thanksgiving dinner featuring turkey with all the trimmings. Arrangements were made through the school lunch pro-pram pro-pram and the personnel of the Juncheon program. Those directly responsible for the preparation of the Thanksgiving dinner at the school were Mrs. Margaret Jensen, Mrs. Neta Batty, and Mrs. Maude Jones. The East Elementary Ele-mentary P-TA assisted at the dinner din-ner by serving. The menu for the students Included In-cluded traditional roast turkey with dressing, mashed potatoes and gravy, celery sticks, plum Jam, bread and butter, a fruit salad and milk. The purpose of the event Is to furnish enrichment of the school children's life through a social period -In which pupils and the teachers partake of the traditional tradition-al dinner together. Thomas J. Abplanalp, principal princi-pal of the school, said the dinner also helps the school program by emphasizing the true meaning of Thanksgiving as being a time pf thankfulness and appreciation apprecia-tion for our forefathers, whose toll and suffering gave us this bounteous land. Decorations for the dinner were prepared by Mrs. Klrtley's fourth gTade students. |
