Show Big Annual Lions Club Minstrel Tickets Moving Fast, Sales Show The annual Lions Club Minstrel, always a popular event in Cedar City, apparently is now attracting thje attention at-tention of people of surrounding communities. At least j advance ticket sales wold Indicate this, since orders for blocks' of seats, 30, 40 and 50 to the order, have been received re-ceived from southern Utah and Nevada towns. In addi tion advance sales in Cedar City are moving at a rapid rate, ciub officials report. This, together with the fact that only a few over 1000 seats will be available indicates that those who wish to auena snouia Duy ineir ticKets soon. It is pointed out that although there will be no reserved seats, anyone who buys a ticket will get a seat, because tickets will be sold only for the exact number of seats available. No Reserve Seats The minstrel wiU be presented In the College of Southern Utah auditorium, and since every seat in the auditorium Is ideal both for a view of the stage and for sound, it was felt that It would not be necessary to reserve seats. Children are welcome, wel-come, or course, but it will be necessary for them to pay the regular admission price. In addition to the improved seating and acoustics' of the auditorium, audi-torium, the minstrel should be much Improved because of the better staging facilities, it Is pointed out. In the past the minstrel has always al-ways been staged on Thanksgiving, Thanksgiv-ing, but this year it has been changed to Thursday, Dec. 1, one week later than usual, becauce of conflicting activities of a number of the members of the club and cast. All Members Busy The entire membership of the club has been very busy for the past month preparing for the show, and Indications are that this year's presentation will top all other performances. A number of features, some of a surprising nature, will be added this year, ajong with the usual dances. Instrumental In-strumental and vocal numbers, and the usual hilarious "ribbing" handed out to leaders of the community, perhaps the one thing that attracts the greatest attention. New vocalists will ap pear during the show, and a number of surprises are also scheduled. Names of the members to appear ap-pear In specialty numbers' have not been announced, which will add an element of mystery. Identifying Iden-tifying the "black faces" on the stage is sometimes rather difficult diffi-cult and adds to the fun of the evening. AU funds raised through the presentation of the annual Minstrel Min-strel are used by the club to carry car-ry on civic activities throughout the year, Including such civic Improvements the develop-1 mcnts made at the city recreation recrea-tion park by the Lions Club. Additional Ad-ditional improvements at the park are contemplated for the coming year, as well as a number num-ber of other worthv prolccts, with the funds coming from the minstrel mins-trel used to defray the costs. Tickets for the MlnstreJ are on sale at each of the drug stores In Cedar City or mav be obtained from members of the club. The admission price for this year's show has been set at $1.00 |
