Show Educators Awarded Certificates of Professional Standing Qualified members of the Iron; County Education Association (ICEA) were awarded certificates based on professional training, at an impressive meeting of the organization or-ganization at the Cedar Stake House Saturday, Nov. 19. Certificates were issued this year for the first time since the: inception of I C E A and as printed on the certificates quali-1 lying requirements are as follows: fol-lows: "having complied with all, the requirements of the laws of the State of Utah and the rules and regulations of the State Board of Education including a minimum of four years of approved ap-proved college training or a di ploma issued prior to 1935; having hav-ing been issued a valid Certificate Certifi-cate by the State Board of Education; Edu-cation; having become a member of the national, state and local education associations and having hav-ing agreed to abide by provisions of the code of ethics of the pro-1 fesslon." The action is taken this year, according to Don Knight, president presi-dent of the ICEA, upon the recommendation of the Utah Education Ed-ucation Association in a drive to give recognition to teachers who have met all of the educational I and ethical qualifications of teaching as set down by the association. as-sociation. Theme of the Saturday night meeting was "We're on our way with I C E A." Table decorations carried out the theme. A delicious deli-cious ham dinner was served to 150 Iron County teachers and , their partners who attended. I The affair was under the di rection of the ICEA social af-J af-J fairs committee with Dona Coo- ley as chairman. Assisting the committee was Llllis Larson, Karma Kar-ma Joseph, Wallace Osborne, Glen Anderson and Sidney Reading. Read-ing. Master of ceremonies for the event was Willis Wynn, principal of the West Elementary. The banquet ban-quet was served by the Seventh Ward Relief Society. President Knight presented the coveted professional teachers' certificates. |
