Show Escalante Valley School Begins Fund Project As a project sponsored by the Escalante Valley School and its patrons, to procure money for a piece of audio visual equipment, equip-ment, patrons in the valley have been giving their deer hides to the school, and the school in turn has been selling them. The first ones were sold for 80c each, and then a parent, Otis Walters, scouted around and found a buyer buy-er who would pay $1 per hide. The school board has offered to match any money earned, dollar for dollar, and it won't be long until the $100 movie projector will be theirs. Already $111 has been received from the sale of the hides, and tn add to thi fund, a earniv.il is underway. Students' and parents par-ents will make and donate articles ar-ticles to be sold. The Escalante Valley school building was moved from Nevada Nev-ada in 19 10, but until recently, the school has had no lawns or landscaping of any kind. Through the cooperative efforts of the patrons pat-rons of the valley, two clean-up days have been held, and a general, gen-eral, beautification project has been completed. The school has 41 students', with two teachers. Mrs. Tcarl Williams teaches the first, second sec-ond and third grade, and Don Applegate, the principal, teaches the third, fourth, fifth and sixth grades. |
